Jacye

Jacye is a powerhouse Americana vocalist from Plaquemine, Louisiana.  She has made her debut in her music career nationally as a talented, passionate and sincere singer, songwriter, musician and recording artist.  Jacye has been singing since she was four.  She started her career entertaining the residents at local nursing homes with the urging of her talented grandmother.  From those early days, Jacye sang her way into people's hearts at special events, weddings, funerals, and festivals.

Jacye grew up singing gospel music and songs from the 30's with her grandmother as a role model.  She really learned how to "put on a show".  These experiences helped her to realize the passion she held for touching people’s lives through song.  She found herself singing locally and writing as often as she could.  When her band received a request to open for country music star, Craig Morgan, it left Jacye with the burning desire for more!

Her journey crossed paths with producer, Andreas Werner, of Crazy Chester Music and Records through a mutual family friend.  Together they began recording her first original album. Having the opportunity to record with Nashville and Muscle Shoals legends, including “The Swampers” and “Dick 50” was one of the great experiences of her journey!  Her debut album, “That Was Then”, released on August 31, 2018, has been increasing in popularity as the journey continues.  It received a rave review by New Orleans music’s Offbeat Magazine.  The album, named by Music Resource Group (MRG), is a Nominee in The 17th annual Independent Music Awards as “Best Debut Album of 2018”. Independent Music Awards is an international, influential awards program for independent artists and releases held annually in New York City.

Jacye’s originals and style show the influences of Janis Joplin, Melissa Ethridge, Bonnie Raitt.  Jacye exemplifies the soulful sounds that came from Muscle Shoals, and Memphis, but highlights Louisiana and New Orleans influences as well.  Her music is popular and appreciated across the United States and internationally in Europe.
